Programa de Innovación y Desarrollo del Camarón

Integrated aquaculture.
Sustainable future.

Venezuela's first vertically integrated shrimp platform — uniting hatchery, production and processing into one traceable, bankable value chain built for global markets.

A model that takes years to replicate — and decades of operation to build.

Most shrimp producers buy postlarvae on the spot market, sell raw biomass and carry the disease and traceability risk that comes with it. AQUAVERDE removes that risk by owning every link of the chain.

The platform is not a concept in search of an operator. It is the technification and scaling of producing assets with decades of continuous history — a hatchery, a farm with 25 years of operation, and a processing plant exporting under FDA and EU approval for 15 years.

The integrated value chain

From biological origin to global market.

Node I
Capana
SPF postlarvae hatchery — the biological root, with genetic traceability by batch.
Node II
Production Hub
Technified semi-intensive farming across a unified land platform in Zulia.
Node III
INZUALCA
IQF processing, Ready-to-Eat value addition and certified FOB export.
Market
Global Export
Premium buyers in North America, Europe and Asia — full farm-to-fork provenance.

Running beneath every stage: blockchain traceability, from genetics to FOB dispatch.

The three nodes

Three complementary assets under unified management.

Project I · Greenfield

Laboratorio Capana

Paraguaná, Falcón

An industrial hatchery producing certified SPF postlarvae, sited where Venezuela's combined solar and wind resource is strongest. It eliminates the chronic dependence on imported larvae and the pathogens that travel with them.

Strategic role — Biological autonomy
Project II · Expansion

Production Hub

San José de Perijá, Zulia

Consolidates the AQUALAGO farm — 25 years of continuous operation — with the Santa María estate to form the largest aquaculture platform under unified management in the country.

Strategic role — Biomass generation
Project III · Modernization

INZUALCA

San Francisco, Zulia

A processing plant with 15 years of export history and active FDA, EU, ASC and SMETA certifications. Investment doubles its capacity and adds a dedicated Ready-to-Eat line and Industry 4.0 technology.

Strategic role — Monetization & liquidity

Why it holds

The competitive moat is built, not promised.

0 yrs
Continuous operation at the AQUALAGO farm, the operating anchor of the Hub.
0 yrs
Export history at INZUALCA under uninterrupted FDA and EU approval.
0
Independent renewable generation systems shielding operations from the national grid.
0x
Production cycles per year, enabled by the Lake Maracaibo basin's conditions.

Sustainability is structural

Not added safeguards — the architecture itself.

Renewable generation, zero-discharge water treatment, blockchain traceability and certified social standards are embedded in the design. They protect cash flow, strengthen bankability and open access to concessional climate finance from institutions such as IFC, BID Invest and CAF.

60–75%
Energy OPEX reduction through renewable generation
6–8.7k
Tonnes of CO₂eq avoided per year
335–550
